Architect Abe Bonnema has been more decisive for how Leeuwarden looks than anyone else. He designed 268 buildings there and in the late 1960s he designed ten substantial gallery flats and several blocks of single-family houses in the Nieuwe Bouwen style.
Its brutalist piรจce de rรฉsistance is the Giro Office: a building like a stylised alien mushroom. Working closely with the municipality's team, we are transforming this building into a stunning residential complex while approaching the existing building as a monument.
